International Visitors

By using the Website, your Personally Identifiable Information may be processed on servers located outside of the country where you live. European Union Privacy Rights

The General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) provides a framework for organizations to ensure the protection of the personal information of European citizens and gives European citizens certain rights.

When Seer processes personal data subject to GDPR (“Personal Data”) during the performance of Seer Technology Access Center services to process human samples for proteomic and related analysis, Seer acts as a data processor (as defined in the GDPR) and follows the instructions of its customers in their capacity as data controllers (as defined in the GDPR) as set forth in the data processing agreement executed between them. If the results of the services are intended to contain special categories of Personal Data relating to individuals who have provided the samples, then Seer will only perform the services subject to its customer’s representation to Seer that the samples are fully anonymized or pseudonymized before Seer receives them. Fully anonymized samples do not allow any link to donors, and pseudonymized samples while potentially linkable to donors such as pursuant to a master key, cannot be linked by Seer because, for example, Seer is not given access to the key. Seer will process the samples only as described in the data processing agreement between Seer and its customer and for no further purpose. Seer implements organizational and technical measures designed to handle, document, and safeguard the samples and data as set forth in its policies, procedures, and work instructions.

  • We have a legitimate interest in processing your Personal Data (e.g., for handling your job application); or
  • The processing is necessary to perform a contract with you (e.g., to deliver services).

In some cases, we may process your Personal Data to comply with a legal obligation or to protect your vital interest or those of another person.

For individuals based in California, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, where we rely on your consent to process your personal information, you have the right to withdraw or decline your consent at any time in writing or as otherwise permitted by law. Please note that this does not affect the lawfulness of the processing based on consent before its withdrawal, nor will it affect the processing of your Personal Data conducted in reliance on lawful processing grounds other than consent.

Retention

We will retain your Personal Data for as long as is needed to fulfill the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. On occasion we may anonymize or-de-identify your Personal Data (so it can no longer be associated with you) for research and statistical purposes in which case we may use this information indefinitely without further notice to you. To clarify, in accordance with applicable law, we are not obligated to provide or delete de-identified or anonymized information in response to a request received from you or any other consumer.

When you apply for a job on this site, your Personal Data will be retained by Seer for as long as Seer determines it is necessary to evaluate your application for employment.
